AssetMark Inc Portfolio holdings
AssetMark runs an investment platform that financial advisors use to build portfolios for their clients and to handle the technology behind them. Financial advisor Ron Cordes and his partners started it in 1996 to solve a problem in their own practice, which was fitting investment strategies into a fee-based, fiduciary business. Cordes and his partners sold the company to Genworth Financial in 2006, and it operated under Genworth names until it took the AssetMark name in 2013. Advisors can place clients in model portfolios of mutual funds and ETFs, and AssetMark also runs its own mutual funds, the GuideMark and GuidePath families. Private equity firm GTCR owns AssetMark through a holding company, after earlier owners that included Aquiline Capital Partners and Genstar Capital.
