About: Wireless services account for nearly 75% of Verizon Communications' total service revenue and nearly all of its operating income. The firm serves about 93 million postpaid and 20 million prepaid phone customers via its nationwide network, making it the largest US wireless carrier. Fixed-line telecom operations include local networks in the Northeast, which reach about 30 million homes and businesses, including about 20 million with the Fios fiber optic network. These networks serve about 8 million broadband customers. Verizon also provides telecom services nationwide to enterprise customers, often using a mixture of its own and other carriers' networks. Verizon agreed to acquire Frontier Communications in September 2024.

Dogs Of The S&P 500: 14 Ideal 'Safer' July Dividend Buys
High-yield S&P 500 stocks can be risky, but 14 "safer" S&P 500 dividend dogs have strong free cash flow to support payouts and are attractive buys. Analyst forecasts suggest top ten S&P 500 dividend dogs could deliver 27% to 53% net gains by July 2026, with lower-than-market volatility. A market correction could make more high-yield stocks fairly priced; currently, only a select few meet the 'dogcatcher' ideal of yield from $1K invested exceeding share price.

AT&T Vs. Verizon: I Like AT&T's Thicker Dividend Cushion
T and VZ's July dividend declarations, together with the changes in financials, have resulted in a notable divergence in their dividend safety. VZ suffered a deterioration in its dividend cushion ratio, while T enjoyed a boost. The dividend cushion ratio is a holistic indicator of dividend safety, overcoming the many limitations of a simple payout ratio.

Verizon: The Risk-Reward Just Got Interesting
I rate Verizon Communications Inc. a Strong Buy due to its stable fundamentals, consistent revenue growth, and attractive undervaluation relative to sector peers. Verizon offers a 6.2% dividend yield, with 20 consecutive years of dividend increases, making it an appealing option for long-term income investors. Risks include high debt and market share pressures, but I believe Verizon's utility-like stability and dividend profile justify a strong buy rating.
