V Hedge Fund Activity: Q2 2017 in Review

1,772 of the 4,012 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in Visa (V) for Q2 2017, worth a combined $162B — up 4.5% from $155B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 114 funds opened new V positions and 53 closed out — a net gain of 61 holders — while 748 added to existing stakes and 689 trimmed.

The largest buyer was Janus Henderson Group, adding an estimated $554M. The largest seller was Lone Pine Capital, exiting entirely with an estimated $548M sold.
