450 of the 3,753 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in Nasdaq (NDAQ) for Q1 2016, worth a combined $8.27B — up 12% from $7.36B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 68 funds opened new NDAQ positions and 43 closed out — a net gain of 25 holders — while 161 added to existing stakes and 168 trimmed.

The largest buyer was Royal London Asset Management, opening a new position worth an estimated $138M. The largest seller was Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, cutting an estimated $65.3M.
