Why I Will Never Retire
Retirement is often misunderstood; rather than a cliff, it should be an off-ramp to more meaningful, flexible work and personal fulfillment. Research shows that abrupt retirement can negatively impact health, purpose, and longevity; maintaining meaningful work and community is crucial. Financial independence should be about gaining the freedom to design a fulfilling life, not simply quitting work altogether.

A Slow Slowdown
US equity markets rallied to their highest levels since February after a critical slate of employment data showed lukewarm labor market conditions in May, with only minimal tariff-related impacts. Benchmark interest rates jumped to near-four-month highs as hotter-than-expected wage growth metrics fueled doubts on the prospects for meaningful Federal Reserve easing this year. Meanwhile, investors weighed questions about the fate of the "Big Beautiful Bill" amid fierce challenges from Elon Musk, alongside signs of thawing in the tariff stalemate with China.

5 REITs I'm Buying As Housing And Labor Market Downturns Begin
Despite positive market sentiment, economic headwinds are growing, with cracks forming in the housing and labor markets, signaling the potential for a mild downturn. REITs are attractively valued now due to their rate sensitivity, discounted valuations, and solid free cash flow growth prospects amid likely falling interest rates. I am buying five high-quality, low-leverage REITs, each offering strong dividend growth and sector leadership.

REITs: The Riches Are In The Niches
REITs offer diversified, inflation-hedged income and capital appreciation, making them a compelling addition to any long-term investment portfolio. Current REIT valuations are attractive, with strong growth projected in sectors like data centers, industrial, net lease, and residential properties. I recommend focusing on quality REITs trading below historical multiples, emphasizing margin of safety and reliable dividend growth.
