MA Hedge Fund Activity: Q3 2018 in Review

1,741 of the 4,375 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in Mastercard (MA) for Q3 2018, worth a combined $174B — up 13% from $153B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 119 funds opened new MA positions and 47 closed out — a net gain of 72 holders — while 594 added to existing stakes and 748 trimmed.

The largest buyer was Capital World Investors, adding an estimated $621M. The largest seller was Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking, cutting an estimated $253M.
