IAU Hedge Fund Activity: Q4 2016 in Review

462 of the 4,000 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in iShares Gold Trust (IAU) for Q4 2016, worth a combined $3.4B — down 33% from $5.08B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 75 funds opened new IAU positions and 42 closed out — a net gain of 33 holders — while 122 added to existing stakes and 160 trimmed.
