IAU Hedge Fund Activity: Q4 2022 in Review

1,013 of the 6,221 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in iShares Gold Trust (IAU) for Q4 2022, worth a combined $16.5B — up 9.7% from $15B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 137 funds opened new IAU positions and 63 closed out — a net gain of 74 holders — while 263 added to existing stakes and 410 trimmed.
