538 of the 4,410 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in iShares Gold Trust (IAU) for Q4 2017, worth a combined $5.2B — up 14% from $4.56B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 92 funds opened new IAU positions and 32 closed out — a net gain of 60 holders — while 134 added to existing stakes and 166 trimmed.
