1,412 of the 4,489 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in Alibaba (BABA) for Q4 2018, worth a combined $137B — down 17% from $165B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 219 funds opened new BABA positions and 176 closed out — a net gain of 43 holders — while 565 added to existing stakes and 475 trimmed.

The largest buyer was Vanguard Group, adding an estimated $727M. The largest seller was Third Point, exiting entirely with an estimated $666M sold.
