977 of the 4,011 institutional investors tracked by Wall St. Rank reported a position in Alibaba (BABA) for Q2 2017, worth a combined $135B — up 40% from $96.7B a quarter earlier.

Buyers outnumbered sellers: 160 funds opened new BABA positions and 63 closed out — a net gain of 97 holders — while 436 added to existing stakes and 264 trimmed.

The largest buyer was HSBC Holdings, adding an estimated $1.32B. The largest seller was Westpac Banking Corp, exiting entirely with an estimated $354M sold.
