Devon Energy: Integrating Grayson Mill Acquisition But Still Affected By Low Natural Gas Prices
Devon Energy is a $22.1 billion market cap oil E&P company. Its fixed dividend yields 2.8%. It now repurchases shares rather than paying a variable dividend. Although Devon is integrating its North Dakota/Williston $5 billion Devon Grayson Mill acquisition, it remains disadvantaged by a low price for its substantial volumes of Permian and Rockies natural gas. DVN's beta is 1.14, similar to the overall market volatility. It received a governance risk score of 8 from ISS, a notable decline from the prior year's score of 2.

3 Oil Stocks That Could Surge Soon
High-quality oil stocks like Schlumberger, Halliburton, and Devon Energy have seen significant declines but likely bottomed in early April. Oil prices are unlikely to stay depressed, with potential for a substantial move higher by 2026 as market dynamics and political factors shift. Saudi Arabia's need for higher oil prices and anticipated Fed rate cuts should support a rebound in oil prices and sector equities.
